Description
This is the Sebasticook Lake in Newport, Maine. Every year at this time they drain the lake as to prevent flooding. I wish they would wait a little later so I could get the beautiful fall colors reflecting on the water, but today I was treated not just to the many blue herons, but to this small herd of deer. It was wonderful to watch. When they first appeared from the woods to the left the deer in front was making sure everyone was there before she lead them across the lake. Unfortunately this was the only good shot I got, but you know what I'm happy to get one.
